Během své přípravy na CAE jsem vystřídala nespočet lektorů angličtiny. Jednoho dne jsem ale objevila Báru. Nejen, že mi dala vše, co jsem od výuky očekávala, jako je perfektní příprava každé hodiny, nespočet originálních a zajímavých materiálů, aktivní přístup, psychickou podporu před testem i během výuky, ale i ještě něco navíc. Její profesionalita, empatie, smysl odhadnout slabé stránky mi pomohly poměrně v rekordním čase zvýšit úroveň angličtiny z B2 na C1.
I feel more self-confident when I speak. I also had an opportunity to speak in English about many various pedagogical topics, which I appreciated a lot.
U Báry jsem absolvoval její přípravný kurz na CAE zkoušku a hlavně díky ní jsem ji i úspěšně složil. V hodinách jsme probrali nejen strukturu zkoušky, ale také dopodrobna procvičili jednotlivé části, takže jsem si výrazně zlepšil psaný i mluvený projev. Díky získanému certifikátu jsem dostal bonifikační body k přijetí na vysokou školu a také mi dopomohl k současné práci. Bára je skvělou lektorkou, která angličtině nejen rozumí, ale také ji baví ji učit a na hodinách je to poznat.
Thanks to our lessons I am no longer afraid of having to speak English, I feel much more confident. I am motivated to consume English content - I enjoy watching videos and reading books and articles in English and I am actively searching for them (even though I have the option to switch to Czech or another language, I now usually don't). I understand much more and last but not least - for the first time in my life I like the English language and I like learning it.
I loved our small talk at the beginning of each of our classes - it made me feel heard and I appreciated you asking us how our week was and you actually were interested in how we feel. You created a safe space for me and supported me in achieving my goal.
Which of the activities in the lessons helped your learning the most? Speaking practice - step-by-step guidance, materials and tips that were easy to incorporate, slowly but surely. Writing practice - all the support, materials, feedback. Familiar and clear structure of each lesson, so I could focus on the language and my progress. All materials and lessons on Google Classroom - intuitive, convenient. And above all, Bára's kind words and support, her ability to individualise lessons and switch between roles as teacher, coach and mentor according to my needs and struggles.
Your lessons gave me the confidence to talk with native speakers with less stress, especially at work. It's great that you try to tailor the lessons to topics that interest me and where I learn words that I continue to use.
